For Wellsburg, West Virginia Chamber of Commerce:

Planned economic development programs with a focus on tourism. Created four new festivals in cooperation with new historic animated museum. Developed fundraising and grant writing programs.

Established web site with business directory; implemented new marketing campaign with collateral.

For International Training Consortium:

Developed collateral materials including logo and web site.

Designed marketing campaign and planned itinerary, including negotiations with hotels for conference facilities and discounted room contracts.

For Sleeping Duck Hospitality Group:

Integrally involved in the strategic planning and construction of two new hotel products and the renovation and re-branding of a third.

Created an umbrella marketing campaign, logo and collateral material to identify properties.

Established management offices, including equipment, software, database and staff training.

For Hotelroom.com:

Developed the first hotel sales and reservation system on the World Wide Web in 1994.

Provided member clients with yield management, separate domains for each property, database and profile of individual users.

Afforded members the ability to e-mail seasonal specials directly to users and gave access to unlimited resources worldwide (currently includes 62 countries). Sold company to Priceline.com.

For Newport News Hospitality Group:

Created and managed Marketing Division for new company that administered 46 hotels for institutional owners, individuals and partnerships; formed strategic alliances to direct multiple properties.

Implemented market analysis and action plans including market study, target segments, guest services programs and budgets. Increased management and marketing contracts 85% in two years.

Designed and implemented marketing plans structured to generate immediate business, including telemarketing, personal contacts; trade shows representation, direct mailing and Internet.

Introduced controlled marketing management database system designed to eliminate lost leads, increase staff efficiency and fill rooms.

Created comprehensive marketing and advertising programs designed to reposition and re-brand properties, provide increased name recognition, and increase revenues.

For Capri Country Inn

Advised owner on renovation and refurbishment of aging property.

Wrote business plan and guided through loan application process, negotiation with contractors, interior and exterior design and re-branding of property.

Turned property into successful B & B and increased room rates from $24.95 to $150 per night.

For Victor Management:

Developed East Coast Travel and Tour Division for management company specializing in turnaround of distressed properties.

Created marketing programs tailored to individual properties and their local markets. Networked marketing efforts of corporate-owned properties to attract different market segments.

Increased profitability to ensure turnaround of investment within three to five years.

Identified and marketed to clients in government, military, corporate, travel and motor coach segments.

For the Omni Hotel:

Contracted to identify market segments and establish a feeder-base for newly constructed 164-room hotel with only 30% occupancy in its first year. Targeted corporate, government and military segments in Richmond and Metropolitan Washington, D.C. and achieved a 70% increase in business within four months.

For the Ramada Inn and Conference Center:

Advised owners on repositioning property after a multi-million dollar renovation. Created an award-winning marketing campaign, special guest services and an extended stay program to launch grand reopening. Increased revenues by $700,000 in six months.

For the City of Wheeling, West Virginia:

Created innovative marketing programs for popular resort, restaurants, aviation service and special events. Established a strong profitable client base, targeting larger corporations in metropolitan Pittsburgh. Created a dine and fly program in conjunction with popular area event.

Marketed one of the nation’s first Festival of Lights event to tour operators in collaboration with area hotels, restaurants and attractions. Drew 200 motor coaches the first year and 1300 the second year through use of television news, print and electronic advertising, press releases and targeted invitations.
